Merino wool

A natural fibre grown by Merino sheep, it goes in our books as an excellent performance fabric. Moisture-wicking, breathable, and anti-odour for days at a stretch, Merino wool is a fantastic material for keeping you cool when spending energy, and airy when you’re not.

Natural

COZY & Biodegradable

When it's sunny, Merino keeps you dry and airy for hours. In freezing conditions, the fibre keeps you warm and cosy. We developed our Merino for our outdoors lifestyle. As a light packable layer for exploring the outdoors, for trail-running , and travel. Merino's natural anti-bacterial properties help resist odour even if it isn't washed for days.

OUR Inspiration

Our inspiration for Merino wool collection came through the pashmina wool farmers of Ladakh. We've always wanted to work with the Ladakhi wool, mainly Pashmina. We still do, and while we are yet to figure it out, we integrated Merino wool in our products.

Our Merino is Woolmark certified. Woolmark's "Merino Perform" certification signifies that a product is made with Merino wool that meets specific quality standards for performance and comfort, highlighting its natural benefits like breathability, moisture-wicking, and odor resistance.

The-making

The MAKING

Natural, renewable, and cosy. Merino wool comes from the Merino sheep in Australia. The shearing of the sheep yields a ball of natural wool which is further spun and knitted to get fabric with different textures and blends. Compared to traditional wool, Merino yarn can be drawn finer and softer.

bamboo

Soft, breathable, and antibacterial, our journey with fabrics began with bamboo. The yarn's buttery texture feels next-to-skin, making it our favourite fabric to train, sweat, and spend the whole day in.

NATURAL, Performance

In high humidity, bamboo wicks moisture away from the skin and helps you stay cool and comfy. Bamboo's soft texture and stretch makes it our go-to fabric for workouts that involve twists, turns, and squatting. Mainly, it goes in our training collection for yoga, strength training, and crossfit.

OUR

JOURNAL with Bamboo

When we were launching our first bamboo fabric, we were clueless about what would be next. Over the years we introduced a variety of fabrics, and yet we spend most of our days in Bamboo. We'd like to believe we took the right call while launching bamboo as it continues to fuel our growth till today!

Heavy sweat activities often demand fabrics that are light and dry fast. Lightweight, quick-drying, and smooth in finish- our recycled nylon is a sustainable performance fabric for high sweat and high intensity sports.

SUSTAINABLE
Performance

Tough, stretchable, and super light, we use recycled nylon in variety of our high performance products. It has a low environmental impact, and the fabric can be recycled repeatedly. Every ton of material regenerated saves 7 barrels of crude oil and cuts down on almost 6 tons of CO2 emissions.

OUR Inspiration

While introducing our recycled nylon, we had to go against our own preference for natural fabrics. For long distance running, you want your apparel to dry fast and stay light even with sweat. Cue in recycled nylon, our pivot to recycled synthetic fabrics that allowed us to deliver high performance without any compromise on sustainability

The-making

The MAKING

It is made by regenerating ocean waste. Discarded fishing nets, landfill discards, and single-use plastics are sorted and cleaned to regenerate nylon. Further, the regenerated nylon is processed into different yarns.

Eucalyptus based Tencel was the second fabric Athlos launched after bamboo. Tapping on its tenacity, we use Tencel in our running tees and also blend it with Merino for our outdoor collection.

STRONG Yet Soft

Our experiment with Tencel left us in no doubt about its high tenacity and durability. Over the years, its unique blend of strength, softness, and breathability has been pivotal in our distance running tees.

SMELL like Eucalyptus?

As much as our imagination runs wild when asked this question, the fabric smells like how most fabrics do, and definitely not like Eucalyptus.

The-making

The MAKING

Tencel is a plant-derived fabric that comes from the pulp of trees, mainly eucalyptus. The pulp is dissolved in non-toxic organic solvents to extract the cellulose. The extraction for Tencel follows a closed-loop solvent system, wherein most of the solvent is recycled and reused.

Supima is a distinct species of cotton with extra-long fibres. The long fibres of Supima can be woven fine, thereby adding a smoother finish to the fabric.

COZY Comfort

Knitted Supima fabric has fewer exposed fibre ends. Meaning, the fabric is pretty resistant to pilling and stays soft over a long period of time. With its smooth finish, sweat absorption, and breathability, Supima makes for a seemingly good choice for activewear.

Polo to Jacket

Many of our users prefer polos for their active lifestyles. So we wanted a polo that blends in cosiness with performance. That's how Supima found a place in our fabric family. Our customers loved the stunner fabric so much that we notched the comfort game to include supima in our coach jackets as well.
